 During her three-month residency at a newsstand, Juarez created tile-based works featuring a range of messages. Drawing on her father’s background as an immigrant who worked in construction and tiling on her home, she followed his practice by producing a contemporary interpretation of tile work. Each piece functions as a self-contained world. While the works are playful and visually appealing, they are intended to engage viewers on a deeper level and contribute to their sense of wellbeing.
